Ireland – 2008

Welcome to Ireland – Home of Guinness Brewery

Ater a few days in Dublin and visiting The Book of Kells exhibition and the House of Guinness, I set off to explore Ireland’s castles and gazed at some of the greenest scenery I’ve ever seen. I traveled from Dublin to Kilkenny, where I kissed the Blarney Stone. According to legend, kissing the stone endows the kisser with the gift of gab. Did it work? It was off to Cork, Limerick, and then to Killarney, where I had Irish coffee in a local Gaelic bar. The smell of burning peat in the fireplace made the place cozy and inviting. Then off to a mainstay of Charlie Chaplin, Kerry Island. After a cold beer and some fish and chips, it was off to Galway and the Cliffs of Moher. A small visit to the Queen and Belfast before returning to Dublin. This tour of Ireland by far exceeded all exceptions, absolutely a trip of a lifetime.
