Amsterdam, Netherlands – 2022

Welcome to Amsterdam – The City of Canals

The Dutch capital is known for its golden age canals, narrow brick houses, and the Red Light District. With amazing food, cheese, and scrumptious space cakes, the city has a very friendly vibe and is home to one of the world’s most renowned art institutions, the Rijksmuseum. I missed out on Anne Frank’s house since it seems tickets sell out month in advance.

Zaanse Schans is a village with authentic wooden houses, windmills, a wooden shoe workshop, cheese factory, and more crafts that give an accurate impression of life in the Netherlands in the 18th and 19th centuries. The windmills of Zaanse Schans are a beautiful tourist attraction in the Netherlands and can easily be visited on a day trip from Amsterdam. I spent the day walking around this charming, peaceful village tasting cheese, shopping and climb up different levels of the windmills.
